Implementation of the ELC at local level: official agreement signed in Mallorca with regard to "La Real" Project

The Consell Insular de Mallorca has promoted a co-operation agreement between the public administration bodies at the national, regional and local level involved in the Project for the implementation of articles 5 and 6 of the European Landscape Convention in the territory of  “La Real” (Majorca, Spain), with the support of RECEP-ENELC and the Fundació Cultural Monestir de la Real.

The objective of the agreement is to arrange the formal framework of collaboration among the above mentioned parties, which will allow the planning, financing and implementation of projects aimed at the protection, management, and planning of the landscape dimension of the territory of “La Real”. In this regard, the launch of a master plan (guidelines) was provided for and edited by an interdisciplinary and inter-sectorial working group.

In this framework, an official protocol of agreement was signed on 9 February 2010 in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) by the representatives the following institutions / organisations:

- Govern de les Illes Balears – General Directorate of Health and Department of Agriculture and Fisheries,
- Consell Insular de Mallorca,
- Ajuntament de Palma de Mallorca,
- Fundació Cultural Monestir de la Real,
- European Network of Local and Regional Authorities for the implementation of the European Landscape Convention (RECEP-ENELC).
